Public Works Staff Report – March 2018
Roads and Right – of – way
➢ ROW Brush clearing – 2018 road improvement areas: Completed by
contractors – 4-9-18, City staff pruning – 220th, Peabody, 197th,
Meadowbrook – Mayberry to Hwy 97, Oren / 230th, Oakhill Way
➢ ROW – additional Brushing with tractor – Quinell, 220th E. of 97, 240th
➢ ROW - 2 dead deer removal
➢ ROW – 2 - trees on road calls
➢ Snow – 3 – full scale plows 17” total snow plowed
➢ Gravel roads: Adding grit for traction to gravel roads – 197th once
➢ Patching – Oxboro, Oakhill, 228th
➢ Brush pile burning
Sewer – Water:
➢ March ‘18 - sewer samples were taken at Bliss and Uptown
➢ 201 – February monthly DMR completed
➢ Uptown - Monthly water meter readings completed
➢ 201 – two alarms – power loss
➢ 4 Gopher One call requests
➢ Rick – Water system operator re-certification
Parks:
➢ Monthly safety checks done on playgrounds
- Rink closed, nets put away
➢ Staff pruned trees and performed buckthorn removal at: tennis courts,
Wayne Erickson ball field, ice arena, City Hall, Wind in the Pines – path
entrance cleared for access for maint. vehicles, Hay Lake, and started
S. ballfields
➢ Lilleskogen Park –STS – continued buckthorn removal – completed
➢ Sidewalks / rink: Snow blown 3 times – one compliment for actions
Other:
➢ Table repaired Community Center
➢ Tables chairs moved back and forth for floor waxing
➢ Monthly building safety checks completed
➢ Two council chamber chairs – New hydraulic cylinders
➢ Checked ceiling leak – ice damming and drifting were the main
causes – additional repairs will be made in the summer and heat tape
installed next winter.
