During a city meeting you strongly feel that something isn't being handled correctly by a member, what action would you take? 10. A person hears what appears to be a young person in distress behind a secured location. The individual destroys the barrier on the property in order to get to the location of which the person believes the distress came from. The person then finds nothing there but has now destroyed another's property in the process. What actions do you believe should be taken towards the individual that destroyed the property? 22.We have establishments in Scandia that have one room with a combined bar and restaurant in the same room? Briefly tell us about your/your Firm's qualifications for the position and your/your Firm's experience in municipal law? 2. Who would be the primary City Attorney and what other resources would you/your Firm bring to the City of Clearwater? 3. How would you/your Firm handle the balance befinreen ethics, law, politics, City Administrative demands, Council demands, and community needs that are all part of a municipal environment? 4. A primary function of the City Attorney will be to assist and advise the City Council and City Administration with the conduct of business meetings and the preparation, interpretation and revision of City Ordinances, Resolutions and other official documentation. Please describe your/your Firm's experience with such critical tasks? 5. Describe for us a time when a client— such as the Mayor or Council Member- or, in a City's case, a citizen, misunderstood something you said or wrote. How did you determine there was a misunderstanding? How did you correct it? What was the final outcome? 6. What, if any, conflicts of interest do you currently have in serving as the City's Attorney? If there are any, how would they be addressed? 7. Please describe your/your Firm's experience with municipal functions and state law as it relates to issues of land use; in particular: zoning and other related decisions (variances, conditional use permits, PUDs, subdivision approvals), eminent domain (or condemnation), comprehensive land use planning, annexation, etc.? 8. Many cities are considering eliminating attorney(s) attendance at council meetings due to budget constraints, if we chose to limit participation as such by our city attorney, what are your feelings on that? 7. Volunteer work force, have you dealt with the issue of liability, etc. of cities using volunteers instead of employees? 8. What do you like best about being a city attorney? 9. Where in your experience, what types of legal issues to most cities face day to day.
