Code enforcement/zoning actions: • TOTAL ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS: 86 1. court action: 0 2. actively pursuing: 27 3. closed cases: 59 • new cases: 2 for the month of March; • 12 Exterior Storage violations, 2 Farm Animal violations, 1 unlicensed car, 8 potentially dangerous dog and 2 miscellaneous cases. Planning: • Variance for building setback to Bone Lake passed by Planning Commission; • Tii Gavo has hired the original engineer Dan Bigalke from Ayers Engineering to facilitate the completion of the project; • Initial inspection of the Old Marine Estates revealed that only 2 of the 13 raingardens had been installed and the maintenance of the tree forest was ongoing. The removal of the barn has not occurred at this time. • FIRM maps were printed from FEMA and banks have been investigating those properties that fall into the `flood zone'. Several people have come in with this problem and have been helped with information regarding a LOMA or similar. Zoning issues: • Attended Development Code committee meetings. Building/Capital Maintenance: o MPCA permit for the 201 collector system for the Bliss Addition near Big Marine Lake has been issued. 2 monitoring wells are no longer required so they will need to be abandoned by 7/1/2011 per the MPCA. 0 2 alarms went off for the Uptown Sewer system. Right after the ice rink melted the alarm at the Community Center went of£ It was discovered that a urinal was running in the warming house and may have been the cause of the alarm but it could also be the tremendous amount of water from the ice rink. A second alarm sounded at Elim Church about a week later. There was no apparent reason for the alarm which went off on a Sunday. There have been no instances since those alarms went off. Daily Activities: • Building inspections; • Zoning inspections; • Review of permits for the excavation into the ROW by Utility companies. • Resident interaction including phone calls, emails and in person regarding zoning, planning and building issues; • Continuing education to maintain certifications for Wetland Conservation Act, Building Official, Water Operator and other licenses that may be required; • Emergency Management courses (on line) as well as classroom training.
