5.a) Chair ReportPRC Chair report — for June 4, 2018 Citv Council meetine. Mav 15 The council accepted donations from the 2018 Vinterfest event. Forest Lake Floral and Meisters contributed $1044, allocated to maintain the hockey rink. Bolton and Menk, for Snow Sculpture cash prizes, and Vinterfest button proceeds contributed $314.59 to the park fund, allocated for Lilleskogen. The council accepted the bid for resurfacing the tennis / pickleball courts. Some additional funding will be drawn from other funds to cover the approx. $4,000 overage in the estimate. After much discussion, the council accepted PRC recommendation for advertising at the hockey rink. All agreed that signage should begin on the west side of the rink. Additional activity Terry and Dan met with Lynn Welsch of the Lions to discuss the working relationship of the Lions and PRC, specifically focused on turning over Vinterfest planning to the Lions. Terry and Dan will meet again with Lynn again on June 1 to continue the Vinterfest conversation. Dan has made timely progress and continues to work toward getting a donation for a Vinterfest raffle, as an additional fund raiser. Terry met with Dave Wilson and Dan Hames of the Lions Foundations on May 30. The purpose of the meeting was to apprise that group of PRC plans and possible funding needs for parks projects.
