Deadline/ Timeline: N/A Background: • The Scandia Marine Lions Club donated the park shelter at Hay Lake Park to the township/city. The shelter now needs to be re- stained. • The Lions will be donating the labor and materials for the project, which will be carried out as weather permits. • The City Council must accept all donations by resolution. Recommendation: I recommend that the Council adopt the resolution accepting the donation, and that a letter be sent thanking the Lions for their generous contribution. Attachments/ • Draft Resolution No. 09-21-10-01 Materials provided: Contact(s): Prepared by: Anne Hurlburt, Administrator (accept lions donation hay lake) Page 1 of 1 09/14/10 CITY OF SCANDIA RESOLUTION NO. 09-21-10-01 ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE SCANDIA MARINE LIONS CLUB WHEREAS, the Scandia Marine Lions Club generously supports the Scandia and Marine on St. Croix communities with their hard work and financial contributions to worthy causes, community events and facilities; and WHEREAS, the Lions Club previously donated the picnic shelter at Hay Lake Park, which has been enjoyed by Scandia-area residents and organizations and is now in need of maintenance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCANDIA, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does accept the donation of the Scandia Marine Lions Club of labor and materials for the re-staining of the park shelter at Hay Lake Park. FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council extends its thanks to the Lions, on behalf of all of the citizens of Scandia, for all of their generous donations to our community.
