6.a) Vinterfest Planning Committee SolicitationThe City of Scandia is excited for the opportunity to involve our local community into the annual
Vinterfest event planning! We are soliciting volunteers (city residents, business and non-profit
representatives, area organization members, etc.) to serve on a Vinterfest planning committee.
Committee duties will include:
• Attend committee meetings (anticipated to be held monthly and/or bi-monthly);
• Coordinate with events typically held during Vinterfest (hockey tournament, Kubb, snow
sculpture, fireworks, etc.);
• Facilitate button contest with Scandia Elementary;
• Publicity and signage for Vinterfest (poster distribution, advertisement, etc.);
• Solicit donations and/or establish fund-raising activities for event costs;
• Solicit and manage volunteers for Vinterfest set-up, event oversight, clean-up; and,
• Grow Vinterfest into a larger celebration of winter, community, and Scandia and its unique
Swedish heritage.
We are excited to hear what the community has to offer for our Vinterfest planning. If you are
