The purpose of this update is to provide you with information on various projects and
engineering activities for the month.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR TIME PERIOD 12/09/08 - 1/14/09.
• 197th Street Drainage Improvements proposed by the Washington Conservation
District has been reviewed and a cost estimate has been prepared.
City Projects:
1. 2007 Street Pavin�
• Two year wari•anty pei•iod e�1ds October, 2009.
• No action taken this month.
2. Pilar Road
• Reviewed maps and road easement information. Made list of issues we will
encowlter with the Euture paving. Still gathering information on past surveys aild
right-of-way along Pilar Road.
• Worked on several drafts of the questions to ask residents and will have this for
review by City Council on 5/20/O8. Once there is consensus on the questions, a letter
questionnaire with self-addressed stamped envelop will be inailed.
• The City Council has revie�n�ed the questionnaire that the residents have completed,
no Council actions authorized to date.
• No action taken this month.
3. Fire Hall Approach Aprons
• Bonestroo pi•epai�ed cost opinions for alternatives to repair the south app�•oach apiron.
The api-on is moving due to frost/soil moisture conditions. The information was
presented at the 8/26/08 6udget workshop meeting.
• City Staff was exploring opiions of mud jacking the aprons instead of the repair
estimated Uy Bonesiroo.
• No action taken this month.
Private Developments:
1. Wyldewood Acres
• Some landscaping items remain to Ue completed Uy the developer.
• Cracked sidewalk at several locations along Odell- caused Uy developer's equipment.

2. Nature's Walk

3. Wild Bush Acres

• Warranty inspection was completed on August 7, 2008 and a written inspectian
notice will be prepared for the Developer to make the corrections.
• The inspection noticed was delivered to the City of Scandia who then would
coordinate tlle w��rk to be cori-ected with the Developer.
• The City rel�ased the letter of credit for landscaping at the 10/0%�08 Council meeting.
• No action taken this month.
4. The Sanctuary
• Letter of Credit: On 10/4/05, amowzt was reduced to $9,375 f�r streets and $3,000 for
landscaping.
• Bonestroo prepared a letter feasibility report identifying the remai�ling project work,
costs to complete the work, and assessment ainounts. City Council consideration at
the 9/16/08 meeting includes receipt of the report, ordering the preparation of plans
and oUtaining bids.
• City Coiancil awarded the Contract for remaining puUlic i�nprovements at the
10/07/08 Cowicil ��eeting. A p�•e-construction ineeting has been scheduled for
10/17/08 at %:30 ain, on-site.
• A Construcfiion Notice was delivered to the existing hoines inforn�ing tJze residents
that the remaining work of the project will start the week of October 20, 2008.
• All woi•k has Ueen completed and accepted. We have received IC 134's and lien
waivers along with the Final signed Contractor's Request for Payment. The project
has been completed and accepted. A one year warranty inspection �n�ill be completed
in October 2009.

5. Willowbrook Church
• No action taken this month.
6. Tii Gavo
• On August 12, 2008 a review of the project site was completed and a meeting ��as
held with the City, Developer, Developer's Engineer, and Bonestroo to discuss the
Letter af Credit reciuction request suUmitted Uy the Developer. Bonestroo has
pi~epar�d a cor�struction cost opinion for the construction remaining to b� completed
and prepared a lettei, for City Council consideration at the 8/19/08 meeting.
• Gas main installation has been completed, and no�� all private �atility installation is
completed.
• The_ waste�n�ater treatmel�t facility is completed and a startu�� �n�ocedur� was

Studies and General En�ineerin�
• 197th Street Drainage Improvements. Bonestroo has completed a review of
proposed improvements by the Washington Conservation District. Information
will be sent to the Washington Conservation District and City of Scandia that will
include a project cost estimate and modifications to the proposed improvments.
