Deadline/ Timeline: The Committee's first meeting of 2009 has been scheduled for Monday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. Background: • A copy of the most recent roster for the committee is attached. At the January 20 meeting, the Council appointed Mayor Seefeldt to replace Donnette Yehle as chair of the committee. • There has been one resignation since last year(Tom Boesel.) The Council may wish to appoint another"citizen at large"to fill out his term. We have one applicant for the position (Michael Harnetty, see attached application.) • Former Fire Chief Steve Spence was a member of the Committee. Now that he has retired the Council should appoint Chief Jim Finnegan to replace him. • Some of the issues to be studied by the committee this year are financing options for the pavement management plan and upcoming major equipment replacements. Recommendation: I recommend that the Council appoint Michael Harnetty and Jim Finnegan to the Capital Improvements Committee. The Council should also discuss if there are any other changes you would like to make to the committee before they hold their 2009 meetings.
