Action Requested: Discuss Council member attendance at the League of Minnesota
Cities Annual Conference.
Deadline/ Timeline: Deadline for Early Bird Registration is May 8.
Background: • This year's conference will be held June 24 through June 26 at the
River Center in St. Paul. The conference provides good training
and networking opportunities for Council and staff.
• We have budgeted for 2 or 31 council members to attend. Because
the conference is local this year, travel costs will be minimized.
• For officials elected in 2008, early bird registration is $250; $400
after May 8. Regular attendee early-bird registration is $350;
$400 after May 8. A Thursday-only option is available for$200,
$300 after May 8. .
Recommendation: Council members should indicate who may be interested in attending
so that staff may submit early registrations.
