Scandia Holds Second Annual "National Night Out" Celebration

On Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the City of Scandia will join cities and
towns across the country celebrating "National Night Out." 'The event will be held at the
Scandia Community Center, 14727 209`h St. N. and is sponsored by the Washington County
Sheriff s office and the City of Scandia.
Demonstrations and activities will include:
➢ K-9 and first aid demonstrations
➢ Washington County's Mounted Patrol
➢ Sheriffls Office Water Patrol unit
➢ Fingerprinting for all children
➢ Games
➢ Learn and discuss what can be done to help your neighborhood prevent crime.
➢ Free food, fun and fellowship with our community.
National Night out is designed for residents to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness in
their neighborhoods, to generate support for and participation in, Scandia crime prevention
programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Send a
message to criminals that your neighborhood is organized and fighting back!
Scandia extends a special "thank you"to community partners Meister's Bar and Grill, Scandia
Store& Deli, Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Target Corporation and the Washington County
Parks Department.
