Planning:
• Numerous items concerning Shoreland District variances, subdivision regulations
and other planning issues. One being planned for on the November meeting and the
others in the future.
• Reduction in the LOC for Tii Gavo regarding trees for the landscape plan.
Zoning issues:
• The owner of the old Trail's End restaurant site had a trailer with a banner on it
removed from his property and informed the City that it would no longer be a
problem. Brookside Pizza advertising signs were being placed on the parcel.
Building/Capital Maintenance:
• Maintenance program for the well and septic system used by the downtown
businesses being formulated.
o All 3 City owned wells/pumps were tested with documentation filed. Tests
revealed nothing out of the ordinary for the systems.
o The alarm went off on the sewage pump tank located in the Elim Church
parking lot. It seems that the water flow rate was greater than the pumping
rate. A larger pump was installed to alleviate the problem but a long term fix
is still being investigated.
o A schematic showing approximate locations of tanks and where flows are
coming from is also in the works.
o The settling tanks located in the septic field were pumped and a pumping
schedule is being created.
Daily Activities:
• Building inspections;
• Zoning inspections;
• Review of permits for the excavation into the ROW by Utility companies.
• Resident interaction including phone calls, emails and in person regarding zoning,
planning and building issues;
• Wetland Conservation Act training;
• Emergency Management courses (on line) as well as classroom training.
