Planning:
• Numerous items concerning Shoreland District variances, subdivision regulations
and other planning issues. Variance request for Mattox approved. Retail Business
District variance requested, to be on the December agenda.
Zoning issues:
• Potentially Dangerous dog issue has come up after an incident in W. O'Brien State
Park. Washington County Sheriff's Office is currently monitoring the situation.
Building/Capital Maintenance:
• Maintenance program for the well and septic system used by the downtown
businesses being formulated.
o Copper testing samples were taken from the testing points determined by the
Department of Health.
o The alartn went off on the sewage pump tank located in the Elim Church
parking lot. It seems that the water flow rate was greater than the pumping
rate. A larger pump was installed to alleviate the problem but a long term fix
is still being investigated.

o A schematic showing approximate locations of tanks and where flows are
coming from is also in the works.
o The settling tanks located in the septic field were pumped and a pumping
schedule is being created.
Daily Activities:
• Building inspections;
• Zoning inspections;
• Review of permits for the excavation into the ROW by Utility companies.
• Resident interaction including phone calls, emails and in person regarding zoning,
planning and building issues;
• Wetland Conservation Act training;
• Emergency Management courses (on line) as well as classroom training.
