Sherri:
I went out and looked at the site yesterday. The soil conditions will require a non-standard mound
with a 3ā sand base.
Wetlands have been delineated and it looks like the absorption area of the mound will be about 20ā
from the delineation on the south side.
There is a little pocket within the mound area which is at a same elevation as some of the delineated
area and has wetland vegetation (skunk cabbage).
A large white pine will be within the upslope dike of the mound but this can be reduced a little by
turning the mound a little to the east on the south end.
A pump line will have to be installed under the creek/seep from the proposed tank location to the
mound.
The proposed well location is next to a privy and the existing septic and pump tanks so there may be a
better location.
Iām assuming this will be looked at by DNR and NPS since the entire area is likely within a scenic
easement.
