1-4-05 tbJanuary 4, 2005 New Scandia Town Board was called to order by Chairman Dennis Seefeldt. The following Board Members were present: Chairman Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman Michael Hinz, Michael Harnetty, Blair Joselyn and Nancy Madden. SKATING FACILITY/NO HOCKEY BEFORE 6:00 P.M. Geno Campobasso questioned the policy posted at the Skating Facility, "No Hockey on Hockey Rink before 6:00 p.m." He stated the rink attendants said they have only had a few complaints about hockey players dominating the hockey rink and that was only after the posted notice. Mr. Campobasso had surveyed several other local communities' rinks and he was not able to find one that has hockey rink hours set aside for figure skating. Ms. Ellen Jellum stated the Hockey Teams pay $100.00 per season for the use of the ice. Ms. Jellum and Mr. Campobasso suggested enlarging the pleasure rink. The Town Board agreed to temporary suspend the notice of "No Hockey on the Hockey Rink before 6:00 p.m. The New Scandia Park and Recreation Committee would review the issue and the findings will be presented at the January 18, 2005 meeting. A discussion was held regarding to have two rink attendants during the evening shifts. It was agreed to have two attendants for the evening shift from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. VARIANCE FOR APPLICANTS ROBERT AND LOIS JOHNSTON Blair Joselyn made a motion to approve the variance findings submitted by Township Attorney David Hebert for Robert and Lois Johnston. That part of Government Lot 3, Section 20, Township 32. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Nancy Madden made a motion to approve the year-end vouchers for the year of 2004 in the amount of $62,893.22. Michael Harnetty seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
