On the above date New Scandia Township Planning Commission held their regular monthly. The
following Board Members were also in attendance: Chairman Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman
Michael Hinz, Michael Harnetty, Blair Joselyn and Nancy Madden.
GLORIA TOLLEFSON-VARIANCE
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variance to Gloria
Tollefson,13420 188th Street North, Marine, MN 55047. Lot Size 2.5 acres to .42 acres, Side
Yard Setback from 10 feet to 7 feet, and Front Yard Setback from 40 feet to 20 feet to
construct a three -season porch. To enclose an existing deck and to add a deck over the
existing concrete patio be approved on the grounds that the existing lot was subdivided
before the current standards were established, the proposed porch would enroach no
further into the side yard setback than the existing home does, and the projected new deck
would not increase the impervious surface to the point where it exceeds the allowable area.
Conditions are that the applicant obtain all necessary permits and pay for services
required. Findings are the proposed variances will not change the essential character of the
locality and will not increase the non -conformity of the property.
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the recommendation by the Planning Commission
for Gloria Tollefson for the construction of a three -season porch. Nancy Madden seconded
the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
