New Scandia Town Board meet at 7:00 p.m. with Mr. Randy Garbe who
was opposing the ball diamond on Oakhill Road. Mr. Garbe was
informed the proposed ball diamond had been proposed for that site
for years. Mr. Garbe wanted to go on record to opposing the site
of the ball diamond.
New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting
Members, Jackson, Ostlund, Hawkinson, Pratt and Nordin of the Town
Board were present.
The clerk the notice for Public Hearing for James Krummi, 19169
Layton Ave. Marine, Mn. to constuct a garage and renewals of
Conditional Use Permits.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the following
variances to James Krummi, 19169 Layton Ave. Lot 11, Blk. 1, Holiday
Beach 2nd Addition. Road set back 40 ft. to 23 ft. Lot width 150 ft.
to 75 ft. Lot size 12 acres to 16,875 sq. ft. Garage closer to
the road then the house. Hawkinson made a motion to accept. Pratt
seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Gladys Lien to operate a Beauty Shop.
Nordin made a motion to accept. Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Karen and David Anderson to operate
Old Towne Liquor Store. Ostlund made a motion to accept. Hawkinson
seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to table the
Dick Eisenreich Conditional Use Permit to operate a Bed and
Breakfast to the October 3rd Planning Commission meeting. Nordin
made a motion to accept. Ostlund seconded and adopted.

Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Nickelson Plastics to operate a
Plastics Factory. Hawkinson made a motion to accept. Pratt
seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for John Fraley to operate Eko-Backen.
Nordin made a motion to accept. Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission made a motion to renew the Conditional Use
Permit for Scandia Enterprises to operate the Kaffee-Stuga and
Veterinary Clinic. Pratt made a motion to accept. Hawkinson
seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission made a motion to renew the Conditional Use
Permit for Lynn Moratzka to operate Tomten Hus Nursery School.
Ostlund made a motion to accept. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that the Conditional
Use Permit for Edna Siniff to operate Country Messenger be tabled
to October 3, 1989 and extend the permit for one month. Pratt
made a motion to accept. Nordin seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Greta and John Krause for a Kennell
License. Hawkinson made a motion to accept. Ostlund seconded
and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Carol Gerlach to operate Hair Bender
Haven. Pratt made a motion to accept. Hawkinson seconded and
adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Richard Tetzlaff for an office for
Tetzlaff Construction. Hawkinson made a motion to accept.
Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Hazel Swenson for Rental Property.
Pratt made a motion to accept. Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to renew the
Conditional Use Permit for Wayne Schmitt for a Chioropractic
Clinic. Nordin made a motion to accept. Pratt seconded and
adopted.
The following Election Judges were named for the Primary and
General Election for the election of County Commissioner.
Russell Jackson, Howard Hawkinson, Edith Hadlich, Shirley Ahlm
and Gwen McCurdy.
