The regular monthly meeting for New Scandia Township was called
to order by Chairman, Russell Jackson. Present were: Hawkinson,
Ostlund, Pratt, Nordin and Jackson.
Hawkinson made a motion to accept the minutes for 12/19/89,
1/2/90 and 1/9/90 as corrected. Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Deed Stamp for Leslie Willmusto_Gregory Duren
Hawkinson made a motion to stamp deed for Leslie Willmus to
Gregory Duren part of NW -4 ofNW-4of Section 3, Township 32, North
Range 20 West. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Blactop Project for 1989
Ostlund made a motion to reduce the retainage from S% to 2%
for Alexander Construction fro payment for the Blacktop Project
1989 and withold final payment to made sure the seeding is
satisfactory in the spring. Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Regarding for Oakhill to Meadowbrook and Beginning at County
to Oidtield
Ostlund made a motion to instruct the Township Engineer to begin
preliminary work for Oakhill Road beginning at the Philip
Peper driveway to Meadowbrook and from County Road 3 at Oren
to Oldfield Ave. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Watch for Children Sign on 205th St.
Hawkinson made a motion to install sign Watch for Children by
Rachel Sundberg, 14177 205th St. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Lawn Fertilizer and Presticide Ordinance
Pratt made a motion to table the Lawn Fertilizer and Presticide
Ordinance to the February meeting. Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Soil Erosin Control Ordinance
Hawkinson made a motion to adopt the Soil Erosion Control
Ordinance. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Ostlund made a motion to adopt the resolution for publication
of the title and summary for the above Ordinance No. 30.
Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Dog Ordinance
Pratt made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 31 providing for
indentification, regulation, confinement and disposition
of dogs within the New Scandia Township. Hawkinson seconded
and adopted.
Fee Waiver
Nordin made a motion to waiver fee for the fund raiser for
Wayne Erickson. Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Errors and Omission
Nordin made a motion to change the Errors and Omission
from the Leaque of Minnesota Cities to Minnesota Association
of Township. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Beer License for Firemans Ball
Hawkinson made a motion to sign the beer license for the
Firemans Ball to be held February 24, 1990. Ostlund seconded
and adopted.
Organizing a Association of Township for Washington County
A letter was recived regarding the support to organize a
Washington County Association of Townships. Ostlund
made a motion if the majority of the Townships in Washington
County are interested New Scandia Township would be
interested. Nordin seconded and adopted.
Parks and Recreation Board
Howard Hawkinson discussed organizing a Park and Recreation
Board for the Townsip. Hawkinson made a motion the clerk
should place a block add in the Country Messenger for
volunteers to serve on the Park and Recreation Board.
Ostlund seconded and adopted.
Pratt made a motion to pay the bills for January 1990. Nordin
seconded and adopted.
Ostlund made a motion to adjourn. Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
