On the above date New Scandia Township Planning Commission held
their regular monthly meeting. Members of the Town Board
present were: Jackson, Hawkinson, Nordin and Pratt.
The Town Board meet for a Special Meeting at 7:00 p.m. to
discuss the following:
Hawkinson made a motion to accept the report of the Board of
Architectural Review Committee and plans for a Mini Mall in the
Hawkinson Business Park. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Pratt made a motion to award the bid for 223rd Street (Rockin
R Ridge) to Lindell Excavating and instruct the engineer to
draw up a contract and a copy of the specs in the contract.
Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Planning Commission
Harold Kueber
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance's to Harold Keuber, 23239 Lofton Court, Scandia, MN.
Part of Gov. Lot 8, Section 5, Township 32, Range 20 West.
To move existing garage to the lakeshore for a boathouse.
1. Lot size 12 acres to 30,040 sq. ft. 2. Boat house size
200 sq. ft. to 240 sq. ft. Reason: It would be unfair to impose
a hardship on this property when there are so many boathouses
on Bone Lake. Hawkinson made a motion to accept with the addition
the siding must match the siding of the house. Nordin seconded
and adopted.
Dorothy Flynn and Elaine Helmberger
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
variance's to Dorothy Flynn and Elaine Helmberger, 23090 Melanie
Trail, Scandia, MN. Lot 7 and the southerly half of Lot 8,
Linnells Bone Lake Addition. 1. Closer to the road then the
house. 2. The garage shall be entered off the existing
driveway.driveway. 3. Garage shall be 40 feet from the center line
of Melanie Trail. Pratt accepted. Motion amended that the
siding match the house. Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Clyde Saari Minor Subdivision
The Clyde Saari Minor Subdivision was tabeled until June 5, 1990
Planning Commission meeting. The clerk shall request a inventory
and evaluation for erosion on Parcel A.
Conditional Use Permits
Dorothv Krause
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
the renewal of the Conditional Use Permit for Dorothy
Krause, 20620 Manning Trail, Scandia, MN. For Kinder -Garden.
Nordin made a motion to accept, Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Clvde Johnson
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
the renewal of the Conditional Use Permit for Clyde Johnson
13781 185th st. Marine, Mn. 55047.- For Scandia Repair.
Pratt made a motion to accept Nordin seconded and adopted.
Michael Chal2ren
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Conditional Use Permit for Michael Chalgren, 21970 Oldfield
Road, Scandia, MN. For rental property. Hawkinson made a
motion to accept, Pratt seconded and adopted.
Marjorie Anderson
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Conditional Use Permit for Majorie Anderson, 19435 Olinda
Trail, Marine, MN 55047. DBA/Log House Antiques. Pratt made
motin to accept, Hawkinson seconded and adopted.
Hazel Swenson
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Conditional Use Permit for Hazel Swenson, 21369 Oren Ave. Scandia,
Mn. For rental property. Nordin made a motion to accept. Pratt
seconded and adopted.
Wayne Schmitt
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Conditional Use Permit to Wayne Schmitt, 20769 Keewahtin, Forest
Lake, MN 55025. For a Chiropractic Clinic and Scandia Interiors.
Hawkinson made a motion accept, Pratt seconded and adopted.
Bracht
Bracht Pit
Citizens were in attendance requesting information regarding
the bond for Bracht Pit. The town board informed the citizens
they have come to an agreement on this matter and this will
be disucssed at the Town Board Meeting.

Hawkinson made a motion to contact with Peterson Plants and
Nursery to install sod for the parking lot and 209th St. at
$2.25 a yard installed. Nordin seconded and adopted.
