On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their
regular monthly meeting. Town Board Members present were: Russell
Jackson, Beverly Pratt, Kevin Nickelson and Duane Thompson.
Tom Boesel Conditional Use Permit Renewal
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the renewal
of the Conditional Use Permit for 5 years to Tom Boesel 16360 209th
Street, Scandia, MN 55073. DBA Tom's Landscaping. Pratt made a
motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted.
Lonnie Holm2ren
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Lonnie Holmgren 1511 Simpson Street, St. Paul, MN
55108. Merrywood 2nd Addition Lot 11 Block 2. Lake setback
200 feet to 102 feet to construct a dwelling. Subject to the
following conditions:
1. That the house including the deck be no closer then
102 feet from the ordinary high water mark on the
west side of property to Hay Lake as determined by
Landmark Surveying.
2. That the house have no basement, as per Washington
County letter.
3. That the house have a maximum of 3 bedrooms.
4. That the on site septic system be approved by
Washington County.
Thompson made a motion to accept. With the following additions.
That the owner understand that the Town Board and Planning
Commission understand this is a marginal lot. The property
could not be put to reasonable use without the variance. Nickelson
seconded. Jackson and Nickelson voted yes. Pratt voted no.
Motion adopted. Thompson yes
Bradlev Underwood
Planning Commission recommends to the the Town Board to grant
the variance for Bradley Underwood 20150 Oxboro North, Marine,
MN 55047. Lot 1 Oxboro Heights. To construct a accessory
building closer to the road then the house. Building not to
exceed 1000 square feet and the siding shall be natural. Pratt
made a motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted.
Century Grange Plat
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to accept the
final plat for Century Grange. Part of Nz of NE4 of Section 2,
Township 32, Range 20. Subject to County Plat Commission approval
and contingent on the soil testing. Thompson made a motion to
accept. Nickelson seconded and adopted.

Dr. Franks Driveway
Dr. and Ms. Harvey Frank were in attendance regarding road problems.
The Franks stated the farmer was causing a erosion problem. The
clerk would send the Browns a copy of the Erosion Control Ordinance.
Mr. Jack Turdeau Washington County Sheriff
Mr. Jack Turdeau spoke to the Town Board regarding the coverage
for New Scanda Township from Washington County. Mr. Turdeau
stated the department has coverage 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
State Sales Tax Increase
Pratt made a motion to sign the resoultion for the ,% State
Sales Tax Increase. Thompson `seconded and adopted.
