On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular
monthly meeting. Present were: Jackson, Pratt, Nickelson, Nordin
and Thompson.
Warren Hallber
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
request for Warren Hallberg, 908 llth Avenue S.E. Forest Lake,
Mn. 55025. NW4 of NW4 of Section 5, Township 32, Range 20. A
variance for road frontage 300 feet to 112 feet for property
in Shady Oaks Plat. Subject to dedication of road easement
for a T turn around to township specifications. With the
stipulation Outlot A be combined on the deed. Nickelson made
a motion to accept with the addition this is a large tract of
land and this will only be a building site off of 239th Street
Court. Nordin seconded and adopted.
Jerry Cusick
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Jerry Cusick, 15978 Scandia Trail, Scandia, Mn.
S2 of Section 13, Township 32, Range 20. To construct a garage
closer to the road then the house. The color shall match the
house. This is the only suitable spot for the garage. Pratt
made the motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted.
Kristin Tuenge
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Kristin Tuenge 20595 Quinnell, Scandia, MN 55073.
Lots 1-6 and 9 Ottisville Addition. For the following variances
Lot size 22 acres to 1 acre. Rear yard setback 50 feet required
to 44 feet. Subject to the septic system being verified for
adequacy. Reason: Because a home already exists on this parcel.
Nordin made a motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted.
Nickelson Plastics
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Conditional Use Permit to Nickelson Plastics 21279 Olinda Trail,
Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 4-9 County Auditor Plat No. 6. To expand
their operations into the previously Olde Towne Liquor.Store on
condition Mr. Nickelson report findings on the tank located
on the property. Pratt made a motion to accept, but with
the understanding Mr. Nickelson will have the findings on
the tank completed by the time of the Public Hearing for the
rezone. Nordin seconded and adopted.

Zavoral Pit
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Mining Permit to James Zavoral 5239 Highwood Drive, Edina, MN
55436. Section 19, Township 32, Range 19 West. To restrict
removal of stockpiles only and reclamation of the area. Subject
to any recommendation by Township Engineer and Dennis O'Donnell.
Nickelson made a motion to accept with the following addition.
The County shall set the bond and the Township named as the
secured party in the bond and subject to Township approval.
Thompson seconded and adopted.

Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance request to Bill Isch, 23630 Melanie Trail, Scandia, MN.
Losinger Lakeview Lots 7,8,15,16 Lot A for road setback 40 feet
to 30 feet. Variance for second building and square footage from
1,000 square feet to 1,392 square feet. Variance granted from
the following findings; The garage color must be similar to the
house. It is not practical to build on the existing lot across
from the house, because that lot may have to be used for a
back up septic system. On the south side of the property is
15 acres of non buildable land, so there will be no buildings
on the property. If the garage would be built closer to the
lake that would require a lake setback. It is not fusable to
add on to the existing garage. Pratt made a motion to accept.
Thompson seconded and adopted.
Clifford Schlenker
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Clifford Schlenker, 15210 Oakhill Road, Marine, MN.
Lot 22,23 and 24 Merrywood Addition. Lake setback 200 feet to
150 feet and all the lots be combined on one deed. Findings:
The variance allows to save trees for the environment. Thompson
made a motion to accept. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Conveying of Parcels Anderson, Durant, Grove Schmidt
Thompson made a motion to approve the conveying of parcels to
remedy boundary lines between Loren Anderson to Russell Durant
and graig Grove to Peter Schmidt and Graig Grove to Russell
Durant. Govt. Lot 4, Section 29, Township 32. Pratt seconded
and adopted.
