9-3-91 tb,pcSeptember 3, 1991 On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their monthly meeting. Present from the Town Board were: Russell Jackson, Beverly Pratt, Duane Thompson, Kevin Nickelson and Charles Nordin. David Nickelson (Nickelson Plastics) and Ernie Vaala (Scandia Farm and Home Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve the request to rezone property located E. 407 Feet of Lot 2, except the North 410.36 feet thereof and the South 655 feet of the West 33 feet of Lot 1 County Auditors Plat No. 6 from residential and agricultural to commercial for David Nickelson (Nickelson Plastics) and Ernie Vaala (Scandia Farm and Home). Findings: To rezone is a logical expansion of the business/commercial land in the township. It is across the street from Hawkinson Business Park. There would be only a single entrance off of Highway 97. Pratt made a motion to adopt with the findings and Mr. Hebert Township Attorney will address the findings in Dennis O'Donnell's letter dated, August 29, 1991. Thompson seconded and adopted. Wallace Pratt PlanningCommission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variances to Wallace Pratt, 12070 Lakamaga Trail, Marine, MN 55047. Part of Gov. Lot 2, Section 29, Township 32. Lot width at water line 80 feet instead of 150 feet and lot f September 3, 1991 cont. size 33,000 square feet instead of 12 acres. Nordin made a motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted. Richard Larke Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve the Minor Subdivision for Mr. Richard Larkey, Route 1, Box 248, Hinckley, MN. Lot 41 County Auditors Plat No. 6. With the following conditions: 1. Soil testing be approved on parcel A and C. 2. That two buildings be removed to confxim with square footage of 2,000 square feet. To remove the hay shelter which is to close to the road and the metal shed which is to close to the property line and the buyer can decide on the reminder of the buildings to be removed, so they meet requirements of 2,000 square feet. 3. That the septic system for parcel B be ascertained to be on Parcel B. Nickelson made a motion to accept. Thompson seconded and adopted. Nels Gronquist Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the Conditional Use Permit for Nels Gronquist, 14641 Oakhill Road Scandia, MN 55073. Lots 6 and 9 County Auditors Plat No. 6. For rental property and to review the permit in one year. Thompson made a motion to accept. Nickelson seconded and adopted. Hawkinson Highlands Plat Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve the final plat for Howard Hawkinson 21710 Oldfield Ave. Scandia, Mn. for Hawkinson Highlands dated 9/3/91 with conveyance of Lot 9 to the township as open space as per minutes of May 7, 1991 in the development agreement.
