The regular monthly meeting of the Planning Commission was
held on February 4, 1992. Members present of the Town Board
were: Russell Jackson, Kevin Nickelson, Charles Nordin, Beverly
Pratt, Duane Thompson.
Mike White
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve
variance's for Mike White, 13310 188th Street, Marine, MN.
55047. Lot 1, Anderson Big Lake 2nd Addition.
1. Lot size 1'2acres to 12,500 square feet
2. Lot width 150 feet to 50 feet
3. Road Frontage 150 feet to 50 feet
4. Lake setback 100 feet to 37 feet
To deny the side yard setback, as Mr. White has adequate use of
the property as it is now situated. These variance's are on
condition the County approve septic system.
Recommend to the Town Board that the Township not accept a
permanent easement for a adequate septic system.
Nickelson made a motion to accept, Pratt seconded. Pratt made
the following amendment: Approve lake setback and the addition
shall only be one story. Only add on to the back side and not
be visible from the lake. Nordin seconded the amendment.
Mr. Nickelson stated most newer homes are two story now and he
has no problem with a two story. Vote on amendment, Nordin
and Pratt, yes, opposed Nickelson, Jackson and Thompson. Amendment
failed. Nickelson made a mo,,tion to accept recommendation from
the Planning Commission with the following addition: To grant
a 10 foot side yard setback and no easement for septic system.
This would set a precedence to grant a permanent easement
for a septic system on public property and we do not know what
type of a system would be installed. Pratt seconded the motion.
Pratt, Nickelson, Thompson and Nordin in favor of motion.
Jackson opposed. Motion adopted.
Skip StromberR Conditional Use Permit
Planning Commission made a motion to recommend to the Town Board
to approve the Conditional Use Permit for Skip Stromberg 21090
Olinda Trail, Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 1, Block 1, Scandia
Addition for office and some storage and renew this permit in
one year. Nordin made a motion to accept, Thompson seconded
and adopted.
P. & N. Products Conditional Use Permit
Planning Commission made a motion to recommend to the Town
Board to permit the Conditional Use Permit for P.&N. Products,
21060 Olinda Trail, Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 6, Block 1, Scandia
Addition. Located in the former Post Office Building for
office space and packaging for a period of 2 years.
Pratt made a motion to accept with the following addition: This
is not strictly in compliance with the ordinance, but Mr. Nora
is already located at this site. Nordin made a motion to second,
and motion adopted.
Daniel Hage Request for Cabin for Storage
Daniel Hage, 3955 Snelling Ave, Minneapolis, MN. Part of Govt.
Lot 3, Section 5, Twsp. 32, Range 20 requested permission to
use cabin for storage during constuction of dwelling. Nordin
made a motion to grant permission to Daniel Hage that cabin
on the site may remain for storage and storage must be inside
cabin for one year during construction of dwelling. If the
home is not built in one year Mr. Hage must obtain permission
for an extension. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Beer License for Meisters Bar and Grill
Nordin made motion to sign Beer License for Meisters Bar and
Grill for 1992. Pratt seconded and adopted.
Thompson made a motion to adjourn, Nordin seconded and adopted.
