5-12-92 special tbEF. May 12, 1992 On the above date New Scandia Town Board held a special meeting. Members present were: Russell Jackson, Kevin Nickelson, Charles Nordin, Duane Thompson and Paul Rasmussen. The board reviewed the applicants for the Road Committee. Duane Thompson made a motion the Road Committee meet once a month and members be reimbursed $20.00 a meeting. Motion failed. Rasmussen made a motion citizens appointed to permanent committees such as Parks and Recreation Committee, Road Committee and Architectural Committee be reimbursed $15.00 per meeting. A board member on a permanent committee receive regular supervisor salary and a board member of a temporary committee be paid the same as members of the committee effective May 12, 1992. Thompson seconded. Nordin made the amendment to the motion: That a Town Board member appointed to any committee be paid regular supervisor salary. Nickelson seconded and adopted. The vote on the regular motion all in favor and motion adopted. Road Committee Rasmussen made a motion to appoint the following to the Road Committee: Mike Peterson, Judy Rydeen, Larry Carlson, Ed Hoffmann and each serve two years. Brian Jemelka, Mark Kasma and Duane Thompson shall serve. The first meeting shall be June 6 at 9:00 a.m. Nordin seconded and adopted. Committees For New Scandia Townshi The following is a list of committees that board members shall serve on: 1 Road Committee Duane Thompson Parks & Recreation Paul Rasmussen Architectural Charles Nordin Comprehensive Plan Kevin Nickelson Review of Berklev Risk Services The following is a list of policies that shall be implemented by the township. Nickelson made a motion to inspect the park areas every two weeks by a complied list and a log must be kept on the items. Thompson seconded and adopted. The other items addressed are on file in letter form to Berkley Risk Services Country Messenger Conditional Use Permit Nickelson made a motion that the Country Messenger is a existing business in the area and the business is moving into a Commercial Zoning and other available space within statues as a legal newspaper is not available Mrs. Hammell will be exempt for two months and if she decides to stay in the area after August 1, 1992 she will have to apply for a Conditional Use Permit.
