5-25-93 special tbFAX MACHINE Kevin Nickelson made a motion to purchase the Xerox Fax Machine for $1498.00. Russell Jackson seconded and adopted. MARINE CARNELIAN TAX INCREMENT DISTRICT The board reviewed the proposed program by Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority for a change in the Marine Carnelian Increment District. The current tax increment plan be amended to add public improvement projects in the township. Mr. Nordin and Mr. Thompson attended a hearing on May 18 1993 regarding this subject and Dennis Hagberg County Commissioner is recommending potential public improvements in the township. Duane Thompson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. 4e&�Sc ores erson andi Township Clerk On the above date New Scandia Town Boar Charles Nordin, Duane Thompson, Russell and Paul Rasmussen were present. 188TH STREET, 189TH STREET INTERSECTION NORELL AVENUE May 25, 1993 held a Special Meeting. Jackson, Kevin Nickelson OF 185TH STREET AND The Township Board and Township Engineer reviewed and discussed the road problems, which they had just viewed on 188th Street, 189th Street and Norell Avenue. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to survey the north side of the road starting at the culvert between the bay and lake, from the James Carlson residence to Mike White residence. To locate the north edge of the right-of-way and that this work be completed by June 14, 1993. Duane Thompson seconded and adopted. Kevin Nickelson amde a motion to do a topograhic survey of the corner of Birch Lane and 188th Street if Pete Genzel from Wash- ington County would give permission to acquire some of the drainfield for the 201 Project for road purposes and provide Mr. John Parsons another area for his septic system. Russell Jackson seconded and adopted. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to survey 18th Street, Norell Avenue intersection with the intent to change the intersection and this be completed by July 1, 1993. Paul Rasmussen seconded and adopted. TAX INCREMENT Mr. Nordin reported that a meeting would be held June 15, 1993 at 9:00 a.m. regarding tax increment at Washington County Court House and some of the board members should be present to state that New Scandia Township Board favored the monies be used for roads and drainage problems around the lake. RESOULTION TO APPLY FOR A AMBULANCE LICENSE Kevin Nickelson presentated a resoultion regarding application for a ambulance license _. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the resoultion to support the efforts of these and other communities to apply through a Joint Powers Board for a ambulance license specifically for District Memorial Hospital. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and adopted. SRAYING OF BRUSH IN ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY A discussion was held regarding spraying brush after the brush has been removed from road right-of-way. It was agreed to have the clerk contact the weed inspector regarding this subject. WORK ORDERS Russell Jackson made a motion to establish a work order policy. Duane Thompson seconded and adopted. TREASURER POSITION A letter of resignation was read from Ms. Edith Hadlich. The replace- ment for treasurer position was discussed. Ms. Peterson read the notice for the position and the board included the following additions; Requires high school dipolma or equivalent. Emphasis in accounting and bookkeeping procedures. The notice will be published in the Country Messenger and Peach papers. Th.e board will meet June 17, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. to review the applications. COLLECTOR AND NON COLLECTOR ROADS Kevin Nickelson stated the need to have a map for collector and non collector roads in the Comprehensive Plan. A discussion was held as to the identification of collector and non collector roads. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to use the map prepared for the township's 1989 Blacktop Project.
