On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular
monthly meeting. The following Town Board members were also present:
Charles Nordin, Chairman, Duane Thompson Vice Chairman, Russell
Jackson, Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen.
Sharon Lindberg Conditional Use Permit
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board the approval of
a Conditional Use Permit for Sharon Lindberg 14511 Oakhi,ll Road,
Scandia, MN 55073. Parts of Lots 6 and 9 County Auditors Plat No.
6. This permit is for rental property for one year. Duane Thompson
made a motion to accept the recommendation. Paul Rasmussen seconded
and adopted.
John George Setback Variance
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board approval of the
variance for John George 20877 Ozark Avenue, Scandia, MN 55073.
Lot 1 Block 2, Sherwood Acres. For sideyard setback on the west
property line from 100 feet to 90 feet for a pole building to be
used for storage and horse stalls. A limit of one horse per 2
grazable acres. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the
Planning Commission recommendations. Kevin Nickelson added the
following to the motion: This is the most logical place on the
property. This is close to the required setback. Duane Thompson
seconded the motion and motion adopted.
Rose Mary Erickson Minor Subdivision
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board approval of the
Minor Subdivision for Rose Mary Erickson 20230 Olinda Trail, Marine,
MN 55047. SE4 of SE2 and SW2 of SE4 and the SW-2 of SE4 of Section
22, Township 32, Range 20. To divide a 65 acre parcel into 3 parcels
as per survey dated July 2, 1993.
A. The garage may be left as is, because this building is
grandfathered in.
B. This is an existing business and will still be operating
after the subdivision.
C. The other outbuildings be left as they are of historical
significance, but with the removal of the kitchen.
D. The 322 square foot building be removed and the 136 square
foot building be removed and the additional grain bins
be removed.
E. The access permit be obtained from Washington County
Public Works for entrance onto Olinda Trail.
F. The drainage easements be dedicated.
Kevin Nickelson made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommend-
ation with the following addition: One or two of the buildings must
be removed to meet the compliance of 2000 square feet of outbuildings
on Parcel B if the business is terminated or sold outside of the
family. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and adopted.
Dr. Richard Nvman Minor Subdivision
This hearing was tabled until August 3, 1993.
Joseph Vruno Minor Subdivision
Mr. Joseph Vruno presentated'th'e Minor Subdivision for his property
with a division of 3 parcels from 100 acres. Parcel B with 5.5 acres
was proposed with 4000 square feet of outbuildings and the ordinance
states that 2000 square feet are allowed on a 5 acre parcel.
Mr. Vruno did not like the division of adding more property to
Parcel B. This hearing was tabled until August 3, 1993 and the
town board would view the property on July 1.6, 1993.
Ronald Mullins Riverview Estates Subdivision
This hearing was tabled until August 3, 1993.
Mural on Swenson Superette
Ms. Danette Polglase asked if it would be necessary to get Township
and County approval to paint a mural on the west side of Swenson
Superette. The clerk would contact Keith Wille regarding this matter.

New Scandia Township Clerk
