9-7-93 special tbSPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 7, 1993
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Charles Nordin. All
members of the Town Board were present.
1. The Board considered the bids for grading and landscaping
of the ice skating facility. The following bids have
been received.
Peterson Excavating $6,352.00
Central Landscaping 12,800.00
E. & P. Excavating 18,750.00
Duane Thompson made a motion to award the bid to Peterson Excavating
as being the lowest responsible bid. Motion seconded by Russell
Jackson and adopted.
COMPUTER HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Ms. Sue Haugen, Township Treasurer, presented cost comparisons
for purchase of computer hardware and softwear. The Board
reviewed quotations supplied by Banyon Data Systems and OPM
Information Systems. After review of the quotations including
warranties and maintenance agreements, it was determined that
the quotation furnished by Banyon Data Systems was the lowest
responsible quotation. Duane Thompson made a motion to purchase
the Banyon system contingent on it being compatible with the
County Tax and Real Estate computer systems. The motion seconded
by Kevin Nickelson and all members voted in favor and adopted.

COMMITTEE FOR POLICE OFFICER STUDY
A discussion was held regarding the committee to be appointed to
study the need for a police officer in the community. It was
agreed that Mr. Rasmussen would facilitate one or two intitial
meetins and that the committee would elect its chairperson.
The Board indentified the following persons as being willing
to serve on the committee. John Olsen, Peter Nora, Harvey
Lindgren, Joyce Heinsch, Nick Wojtowicz, Pamela Jacobs, Kay
Klemenhagen and Duane Lawrence and Sally Lawrence to serve as
one committee member. It was agreed that former police officer,
Mary Lou Simonson should be consulted by the committee as a
resource.
