9-7-93 tb,pcSeptember 7, 1993 On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting. Charles Nordin, Kevin Nickelson, Duane Thompson, Russell Jackson and Paul Rasmussen of the Town Board were also present. Richard Nyman Minor Subdivision Richard Nyman request was tabled by the Planning Commission. EDWARD MILLHOUSE Planning Commission tabled the Edward Millhouse Conditional Use Permit pending final survey and site plan. LARRY MERGENER Planning Commission recommends'to the Town Board to grant the variance to Larry Mergener 12632 182nd Street North, Marine, MN 55047. Big Lake View 3rd Addition. For the construction of a garage. I. l-2 Acres to 27,300 square feet 2. Lake setback 100 feet to 79 feet The reasons for the recommendation are that the garage will be set back farther from the lake then the house; all other setbacks can be met; and the proposed location fo the garage is the only feasible location on the property due to topography and septic location. Duane Thompson made a motion ' to accept the recommendation. Russell Jackson seconded the motion an*d adopted. THOMAS RUMREICH Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variance's to Thomas Rumreich, 20 North Lake Street Apt. 311, Forest Lake, MN 55025. Lot 9 Cedarcliff Addition. Bluff setback less than 100 feet -existing house and addition would overhang the bluff; sideyard setback from 20 feet to 18 feet under Township Ordinance); construction on slope in excess of 12% to construct a 12 feet by 14 feet sunroom addition to the south side of existing dwelling. Paull Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendation with the additional finding that the house is already on the bluff line. Russell Jackson seconded. The motion carried with Thompson, Jackson, Nordin and Rasmussen voting in favor and Nickelson voting against. ROBERT KOPP Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variance's to Robert Kopp, 2232 Searle, St. Paul, MN 55117. Lot 10, 11, 12 and Part of Govt. Lot 3 Mineyahta Beach. 1. The new addition is to be no closer to the lake than the existing house. 2. A sideyard of ten feet. 3. Removal of existing guest house. Russell Jackson made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendation which was seconded by Paul Rasmussen. After discussion, the motion and second were withdrawn. Duane Thompson made a motion to table the request for the purpose of allowing The Town Board to view the property. The motion was seconded and adopted. The date and time set for the viewing was September 14, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. RAY BURRIS Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve the variance for Ray Burris 21850 Olinda Lane, Scandia, MN 55073. Lott Block 1 of Goose Lake Woods. To construct a garage 30 x 40 closer to the road then the house. 155 feet from the road. For the following reasons: This is the best location for the garage and the garage is well screened from the road and that the siding and roof must match the house. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendation. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and adopted. CHARLES NIELSEN Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to approve the concept plan under the f,,olllowing conditions: 1. 60 feet from the centerline of CSAH 15 be dedicated for road right-of-way. 2. Access control along HWY 15 be dedicated with the exception of the area for a joint driveway for Lots 3 and 4 . 3. All wetlands on the site be delineated and covered with a drainage easement on the plat. 4. 33 feet from the centerline of 202nd Street be dedicated to the town for road purposes. Determination must be made on the status of 202nd Street. 5. A sketch plan being prepared for the remainder of John Nordin's property to see how this subdivision fits in with any potential future development of the remaining Nordin property. 6. Soil testing be sumbitted. 7. All information required on a preliminary plat be submitted. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendation.
