On the above date a Public Hearing was held regarding the
proposed 1994 Road Improvement. The following Board Members were
present: Charles Nordin, Chairman, Edith Hadlich, Kevin
Nickelson, Paul Rasmussen and Duane Thompson.
Mr. Tom Prew, Township Engineer reviewed the proposed project for
the 1994 Road Improvement. Mr. Prew stated he would recommend to
the town board to delete Mayberry/Lofton from the project this
year as there is a possibility the township may receive funding
from the Department of Natural Rescources, because of the public
access on Mayberry. The funding may be available in 1995 or 1996
and the project must be completed the year the township receives
the funding. Mr. Prew also recommend to the board due to heavier
traffic on 202nd Street that the township compensate the extra
one inch of blacktop on Elwood Pheasant Glen Plat.
The citizens expressed concerns regarding assessable units,
collector, non collector roads, subgrade of roads, ditching,
curve on Oxboro, but the most concern regarding the project was
not to include Old Marine Trail to Olinda Trail (CSAH 3) on the
project. Citizens expressed this is a very heavily traveled
thoroughfare.
Project One
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to delete Project One (1) Mayberry
Avenue/Lofton from the 1994 Road Improvement Project based on the
possiblility of receiving monies from the Department of Natural
Resources and submit an application requesting funds for this
project. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion and motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Project Two
Kevin Nickelson made a motion to include Project Two (2) 202nd
Street and Orwell Avenue, 197th Street and Orwell Court on the
1994 Road Improvement. Edith Hadlich seconded and motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Project Three
Kevin Nickelson made a motion to include Oxboro Intersection of
Old Marine Trail. Paul Rasmussen seconded and motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Project Four
Duane Thompson made a motion to include Project Four (4) to
include 236th Street, 237th Street and Oldfield. Edith Hadlich
seconded the motion and motion carried by unanimous vote.
Kevin Nickelson made a motion

Paul Rasmussen made a motion to include on the March 29, 1994
agenda to authorize Township Engineer, Tom Prew to prepare a
feasibility report and hold a public hearing for road improvement
to Old Marine Trail and the possibility of including this in the
1994 Road Improvement Project. Edith Hadlich seconded the motion
and motion carried by unanimous vote.
