On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their
regular monthly meeting. The following Board Members were
present: Chairman, Charles Nordin, Edith Hadlich, Kevin
Nickelson, Paul Rasmussen and Duane Thompson.
TODD SMITH
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Todd Smith, 13435 205th Street, Scandia, MN 55073,
that part of SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 22, Township 32, Range
20. To construct a garage closer the road then the house. The
garage will have cedar siding and the color will match the house
with the following findings:
(1) Need for a garage
(2) Best location for

DONALD WAGNER
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to Donald Wagner, 12180 Lakamaga Trail, Marine, MN
55047. Govt Lot 3, Section 29, Township 32, Range 20. To
construct a screen house. Lake setback 100 feet to 88 feet with
the following findings:
(1) There are other buildings in the vicinity which are
closer to the lake than this proposed screen house.
(2) Moving the structure further back would require the
removal of additional trees.
(3) The condition being the screen house must be
earthtone colors.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendation. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimous.
RIVERVIEW ESTATES (RONALD MULLINS)
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
concept approval of Riverview Estates for Ronald Mullins, 10900
Dectur Avenue South, Bloomington, MN 55438. The E 1/2 of the NE
1/4 of the NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 13, Township 32, Range 20.

With conditions the preliminary and final plat be approved by the
Forest Lake Watershed Management. Paul Rasmussen made a motion
to approve the Planning Commission recommendations. Duane
Thompson seconded the motion and motion passed unanimous.
SUE .AND CRAIG WILCOX DOG PROBLEMS
Ms Sue Wilcox, 18631 LaMar'Avenue, Marine, MN 55047 was
requesting the possibility of a Conditional Use Permit for a Dog
Kennel. Ms Wilcox had been informed there would probably be a
problem as she has such close neighbors. Ms Wilcox has chosen
not to apply for a Conditional Use Permit and will only keep
three dogs and then she would comply with the township ordinance.
Ms Wilcox will notify the township office in approximately one
month when she shall comply with the ordinance.
HARRIET JOHNSON AND VERONICA KEES
LaVayne Dupslaff, Landmark Surveying presented a Certificate of
Survey for a land split as Ms Kees wishes to purchase a .83 acre
of land from Ms Harriet Johnson in County Auditors Plat No. 6.
Ms Kees lot is very small and this could provide space for a
second septic system if needed. There was discussion whether or
not this should be classifed as Minor Subdivison and if there was
a necessity for a Pubic Hearing.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to require a
Public Hearing for this land division. Kevin Nickelson made a
motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendation. Edith
Hadlich seconded the motion and motion passed unanimous.
