On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their
regular monthly meeting. The following Board Members were also
present: Chairman, Charles Nordin, Vice Chairman, Duane
Thompson, Edith Hadlich, Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen.
WILLIAM & HILDEGARD R WILSON PLAT
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
Preliminary Plat approval to William and Hildegard Wilson, 22200
Manning Trail North, Scandia, MN 55073. The SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4
of Section 7, Township 32,,Range 20, with the conditions on
letters from TKDA, conclusions from Dennis O'Donnell's, with the
findings from MN DNR and FLWMO. Additional conditions being the
second dwelling on Lot 1, Block 2, be eliminated at time of sale
or when Mr Wilson's mother-in-law no longer lives there and Kirk
Avenue be built and blacktopped to the north property line with a
hammer -head turn around built at that point. The name of the
plat shall be Klein Pommern AM See Addition.
Duane Thompson made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendations. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimously.
ARLAN HAWLEY MINOR SUBDIVISION
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Minor Subdivision to Arlan Hawley, 22077 Peabody Trail North,
Scandia, MN 55073. The South 660 feet of the West 660 feet of
the West Half of SW 1/4 of Section 12, Township 32, North, Range
20 West. Both parcels meet the minimum lot requirements with the
conditions that the driveway to the future home on Parcel B
exist on Peabody.
Edith Hadlich made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendation. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimously.
SELMA C SROCK ESTATE
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
approval for the Srock Estate Minor Subdivision/variance on the
SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 13, Township 32, Range 20. This
parcel meets minimum lot size with the conditions a Certificate
of Survey is obtained and only one homesite on the parcel. The
variance of 300 feet to 66 feet is a approved precedence.

Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendation. Edith Hadlich seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE NUMBER 51 SIDEYARD SETBACK FROM 25 FEET TO 20 FEET
IN CERTAIN ZONES
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board approval of
Ordinance No. 51, an ordinance amending Section 602.01 of
Ordinance No. 18 being the Town of New Scandia Zoning Ordinance
for sideyard setback from twenty five feet to twenty feet in
certain zones. This Ordinance is on file in the ORDINANCE BOOK.
Kevin Nickelson made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendation. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimously.
GEORGETTA HALE
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant
approval to Georgetta Hage for the detached garage to meet the
required square footage on the grounds that there is no other
place for the garage and the Minnesota winters requires a garage.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendation. Edith Hadlich seconded the motion and motion
passed unanimously. 1.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion the existing shelter 16 x 18 feet be
removed by September 1, 1995. Edith Hadlich seconded the motion
and motion passed unanimously.
EUGENE CONTENENZA
Mr Contenenza, 13380 188th Street North, Marine, MN 55047 brought
a complaint to the Planning Commission and Town Board regarding
the county requiring Mr Contenenza to combine Lots 8,9, and 10 to
build a garage. A letter was read from Dennis O'Donnell dated
October 11, 1994 stating the lots should combined and Mr Hebert
stated the lots could no longer be given away or sold separately.
The clerk would speak to Dennis O'Donnell regarding the building
permit for the garage.
BRUCE SWENSON CONCEPT OF A PROPOSED PLAT
Mr Swenson, 22161 Oldfield Avenue North, Scandia, MN 55073,
presented concept plan for a proposed plat of his property.
Mr Swenson informed the board the family would like to dedicate
1/4 mile of shoreland on Goose Lake to the township as a wildlife
preserve.

DENSITY ISSUE
Mr Nickelson discussed a letter from the Met Council dated July
5, 1995 regarding a consultant service to review the density
issue. It was agreed the clerk send a letter to Mr Harry
Melander, Washington County Planning Advisory Board, stating
the township is negotiating with the Metropolitan Council
regarding the concept of a proposal for a consultant service to
develop methods for implementing council's rural area policies.
