The New Scandia Township Board held the regular monthly meeting
on the above date. Chairman, Charles Nordin called the meeting
to order. The following Board Members were present: Chairman,
Charles Nordin, Vice Chairman, Duane Thompson, Edith Hadlich,
Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen.
CONCERNS REGARDING SNOWPLOWING COUNTY ROADWAYS/KENT SWENSON
Mr Kent Swenson questioned if the township employees would be
plowing the county roadways if laborers for the Washington County
Public Works Department would strike. It was agreed that New
Scandia Township would not become involved in the labor dispute
between the County and the Township and if there is a strike the
township would hold a emergency meeting to make a decision.
ADMINISTRATION POLICIES
Mr Paul Rasmussen suggested to review township employee policies,
etc.at a later date. A Workshop Meeting was scheduled for
December 12, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. to review policies, etc.
WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS PLAN
MEETINGS AND INTERVIEWS FOR TOWNSHIP COMMITTEES
Paul Rasmussen made a motion that Mr Duane Thompson attend the
meeting for the Washington County Communications Plan. Kevin
Nickelson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Interviews for vacancies on township committees were scheduled
for December 19, 1995 at 6:30 p.m.
Kevin Nickelson would attend the Landscape Architectural meeting
at the University on Land Planning Development.
TREASURER'S POSITION EMPLOYMENT
Ms Susan Haugen will be attending college full time as of January
1, 1996 and Ms Haugen will only be able to work approximately
8 to 10 hours weekly effective on that date. Ms Haugen informed
the board she would be able to complete the treasurers duties.
It was agreed Ms Haugen could keep her postion as treasurer and
status
The board directed the clerk to advertise for part time office
employment for one day a week and on call.

LIGHTING FOR SKATING FACILITIES
It was agreed to install a temporary spotlight on the flagpole
which shall be installed by Schmitt Electric.
BOUNDARY CHANGE FOR BLOOM PROPERTY
Duane Thompson made a motion to wavier the Minor Subdivision
requirements due to a boundary change for the Harold Bloom
property on Bone Lake. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and
motion adopted unanimously.
STREET LIGHTING FOR OAKHILL ROAD
The clerk presented a concept for the Street Lighting Project on
Oakhill Road. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to acquire quotes
for the Street Lighting Project. Duane Thompson seconded the
motion and motion adopted unanimously.
CAB AND CHASSIS DELIVERY
Mr Duane Thompson expressed his concern regarding the late
delivery date for the Cab and Chassis which was ordered in July,
1995 Edith Hadlich made a motion Mr Hebert and Mr Thompson
compose a letter to Iten Chevrolet regarding this issue. Kevin
Nickelson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
