02-06-96 tbFebruary 6, 1996 The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Charles Nordin. The following Board Members were present: Chairman, Charles Nordin, Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen. Edith Hadlich and Duane Thompson were absent. MR WILLIAM WILSON/WILLIAMSBURG PLAT Mr William Wilson expressed his concerns regarding engineering services, fees and bituminous surfacing of the road to his neighbors boundary line. Mr Tom Prew, Township Engineer would address the bituminous surfacing at the February 20, 1-996 Town Board meeting. PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE Kevin Nickelson made a motion to accept the letter of resignation of Lori Gordon from the Parks and Recreation Committee. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to appoint Lisa Schlingerman to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY Dolores Peterson and Paul Rasmussen reviewed the possibility of New Scandia Township joining a Group Health Insurance Provider for township employees. David Hebert informed the need of reviewing the pay equity with rate figures. It was agreed the clerk would provide Mr Hebert and Paul Rasmussen the required information and Mr Hebert and Mr Rasmussen would review the proposal and this item be on the February 20, 1996 agenda. BILL IN LEGISLATURE REGARDING URBAN TOWN STATUS Kevin Nickelson made a motion to direct Mr David Hebert to compose a letter opposing the bill in legislature that allows the creation of urban towns and provides the primary powers of an urban town. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. TORO GROUNDSMASTER SCHOOL Kevin Nickelson made a motion to grant permission to John Hughes to attend the Toro Groundsmaster School. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. page 2 February 2, 1996 STEVEN RODRIGUE/NORTHERN STATES POWER MINOR SUBDIVISION Kevin Nickelson made a motion to wavier the formal requirements for the Minor Subdivision for easements pertaining to Northern States Power, subject of approval by the township staff for legal description. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. SHORELINE WATER MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE Mr David Hebert stated it appears there is a discrepancy in the township Shoreline Water Management Ordinance. The board directed Mr Hebert to prepare a amendment to the ordinance referring to the township zoning map. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
