04-02-96 tbApril 2, 1996 The regular montly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Charles Nordin. The following Board Members were present: Charles Nordin, Chairman, Duane Thompson, Vice Chairman, Edith Hadlich, Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen. Brian Jemelka/Questions On Pay Scale Mr Jemelka informed the township board that he is requesting the township follow the Washington County Public Works Department pay scale which was 20 increase this year and 2 1/2 o next the next two years. Mr Jemelka was informed the township gave a 2.30 increase to employees this year which was over the amount for Washington County Public Works Department. Mr Jemelka questioned why he was not receiving the extra wage for supervision of the Maintenance Department. Mr Jemelka questioned the last sentence on item four on his contract which reads: An emergency call shall be authorized by a member of the Town Board only. Mr Jemelka also requested that Presidents Day be included as a paid holiday. Mr Jemelka was informed by board members that the township does not have to follow the county contract and the township increase was larger then the county and that the township has always tried to be fair with you as a employee. The board informed Mr Jemelka that the supervision pay scale was only on a trial basis and this was discontinued. There was much discussion regarding item four on the contract and it was the boards decision to leave the sentence in the contract. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to include Presidents Day as a paid holiday for full time township employees. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. r Richard Bradley/Connection to 201 Project Mr Richard Bradley's request to connect unto the 201 Project was tabled as the board requested more information. Policy For Replacement of Mail Boxes Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adopt the Policy For The Replacement of Mail Boxes for the township. Edith Hadlich seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. page 2 Gravel Pit Inspections Kevin Nickelson made a motion to appoint Edith Hadlich and Dan Booren to inspect the gravel pits in the township when in operation for the year of 1996. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. - Truck Specifications It was agreed the township purchase the information from Minnesota Department of Transportation regarding bidding for township equipment and the township can bid through the State of Minnesota. A meeting was scheduled on Wednesday, April 10, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. to review the truck specifications with, David Hebert, Kevin Nickelson, Duane Thompson and Brian Jemelka in attendance.
