Brian Jemelka/Questions On Pay Scale
Mr Jemelka informed the township board that he is requesting the
township follow the Washington County Public Works Department pay
scale which was 20 increase this year and 2 1/2 o next the next
two years. Mr Jemelka was informed the township gave a 2.30
increase to employees this year which was over the amount for
Washington County Public Works Department. Mr Jemelka questioned
why he was not receiving the extra wage for supervision of the
Maintenance Department. Mr Jemelka questioned the last sentence
on item four on his contract which reads: An emergency call
shall be authorized by a member of the Town Board only. Mr
Jemelka also requested that Presidents Day be included as a paid
holiday.
Mr Jemelka was informed by board members that the township does
not have to follow the county contract and the township increase
was larger then the county and that the township has always tried
to be fair with you as a employee. The board informed Mr Jemelka
that the supervision pay scale was only on a trial basis and this
was discontinued. There was much discussion regarding item four
on the contract and it was the boards decision to leave the
sentence in the contract.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to include Presidents Day as a paid
holiday for full time township employees. Duane Thompson
seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
