3-04-97 tbMarch 4, 1997 The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Charles Nordin. The following Board Members were present: Chairman, Charles Nordin, Vice Chairman, Duane Thompson, Kevin Nickelson and Paul Rasmussen. Absent was Edith Hadlich. Gambling Application For Exemption/Scandia Riders Club Paul Rasmussen made a motion to sign the application for the Minnesota Lawful Gambling for the authorization of an exemption from lawful gambling license for Scandia Riders Club. Duane Thompson seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Dennis Hegberg/Washington County Commissioner Mr Hegberg addressed the new policy with Washington County Department of Health, Environment and Land Management for Planning Assistance. Mr Hegberg stated the County Commissioners felt by assisting the townships there was a conflict of interest. If variances have to go before Washington County for a hearing the same consultant would address each hearing. Mr Hegberg stated the county will not provide services to townships as in the past and eventually may not provide building inspectors to townships. Mr Hegberg informed the board the County Commissioners has given the City of Grant an extension for one year and that New Scandia Township could request an extension. Duane Thompson made a motion to send a letter to Washington County Commissioners requesting an extension for the Planning Assistance with the Department of Health, Environment and Land Management. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion. Paul Rasmussen, Duane Thompson and Charles Nordin voted yes. Kevin Nickelson voted opposed. Motion adopted. m2m;:L�" New Scandia Township Clerk
