On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their
regular monthly meeting. The following Board Members were also
present: Charles Nordin, Chairman, Paul Rasmussen, Vice
Chairman, Robert Jensen, Kevin Nickelson and Dennis Seefeldt.
William Woodward
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance to William Woodward, 23530 Melanie Trail, Scandia, MN.
55073. Lots 1, 2, and part of Lot 3 and Lots 9 and 10 in
Losingers Lakeview Addition. To construct a pole building on Lot
10 on grounds that it is a reasonable use of the property.
Conditions are: (1 all lots (1, 2, 3, 9 & 10) be combined as one
parcel; 2) rear yard setback be 50 feet and all other setbacks
to be followed; 3) color of building to be in earth tones; 4) two
existing storage buildings to be removed; and 5) size of proposed
building to be 25 x 40 feet with 12 foot side walls. Findings
are no objections from neighbors.
Dennis Seefeldt made a motion to approve the Planning Commission
recommendation, but to continue the Public Hearing for the
request of a 50 feet rear yard setback to 33 feet. This hearing
shall be referred back to the Planning Commission on February 3,
1998 and that surrounding property owners that were informed
about the January 6, 1998 hearing also receive a mailed notice
of the continuation of the hearing for the rear yard setback.
Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.
