3-02-99 tb,pcMarch 2, 1999 On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting. The following Board Members were also present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman, Paul Rasmussen, Kevin Nickelson, Robert Jensen and Bruce McConoughey. Gravel Mining Permits Zavoral-No representative from Zavoral was in attendance and no permit application has been made to the Township. Zavoral Pit does have a County permit and last year's permit was for removal of stockpile only. Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that they grant a 60-day temporary permit to remove stockpile only pending a permit application is submitted to the Township. The Clerk is directed to send a letter to Zavoral indicating a permit application is required. Robert Jensen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendations. Bruce McConoughey seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Bracht Pit -Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that they grant the mining permit to Bracht Bros. for one year. On the grounds that all conditions set forth in 1998 have been met. Conditions are: 1)continue to meet with road supervisor for monthly maintenance of 185th Street;2)continue reclamation phases as required;and 3)any and all conditions set forth in the past will be in affect for 1999. Findings are County annual testing of well has been done, current mining is above 920' level, Phase 1 reclamation is completed, and screening to west has been completed. Robert Jensen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendations for the Bracht Pit. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion. Dresel Pit -Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that they grant the mining permit to Dresel for one year on the grounds that all conditions set in 1998 have been met. Conditions are any and all conditions set forth in the past will be in affect for 1999. Findings are no complaints have been received and minimal amount of activity at this site last year. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendations. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion with the following amendment: Delete minimal activity at this site last year. Motion adopted unanimously. page 2 Barton -Tiller Corporation. -Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that they grant the mining permit as applied for by Barton Sand and Gravel/Tiller Corporation for one year on the grounds that all conditions have been met in 1998. All conditions set forth in the past will be in affect for 1999. Findings are well sampling has been complete and stack tests have been completed. Robert Jensen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission recommendations for the Barton -Tiller Corporation Pit. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
