On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their
regular monthly meeting. The following Board members were also
present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman, Paul
Rasmussen, Michael Hinz, Robert Jensen and Bruce McConoughey.
Peter Johnston/Variance
The Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
the variance to Peter Johnston, 19710 Maxwill Avenue South,
Marine, MN 55047. Lot 3 and 4 of Mineyahta Beach Addition. To
build a pole building closer to the road than the house on the
grounds that lake property is a special circumstance. Conditions
are all snow removal is done by blowing snow on own property.
Robert Jensen made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendations for the Peter Johnston's variance. Paul
Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Vincent Turnblad/Minor Subdivision and Independent School
District #831/Conditional Use Permit
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
Minor Subdivision for Vincent Turnblad and the CUP for
Independent School District 831 for one year on the grounds
that this is a permitted conditional use. Conditions are: (1 the
parking stalls be 91x201, 2) bumper curbs installed 5' from side
property line for parking lot and around planting island, 3) open
water area be fenced, 4) wetlands be delineated, and 4) Minnesota
Department of Health approval be obtained. Findings are this is
consistent with ordinance standards.
Bruce McConoughey made a motion to accept the Planning Commission
recommendations with the following stipulations: Landscape
Plan should be completed in one year and address this stipulation
when the Conditional Use Permit is reviewed on one year. This
plan could be done by students and families. Robert Jensen
seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Carmen Radke and Joyce Meyers/Variance
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the
variance request of Carmen Radke and Joyce Meyers for road
frontage from 300 feet to 24 feet on the grounds that is the only
access available to the parcel. Conditions are no further
subdivision of the property and a minimum of a 12-foot wide
driveway be maintained.

Robert Jensen made a motion to approve the Planning Commission
recommendation for Carmen Radke and Joyce Meyers variance. Bruce
McConoughey seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
George Larson/Croix Crest/Final Plat Approval
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board that they grant
final plat approval for George and Mary Larson/Croix Crest Plat
as presented. Conditions are Washington County Soil and Water
Conservation District and the County Plat Commission approve the
plat.
Robert Jensen made a motion to approve
Crest for George Larson, contingent on
Agreement, Title Opinion and a Letter
McConoughey.
