The regular New Scandia Town Board meeting was called to order by
Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt. The following Board Members were also
present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman, Paul
Rasmussen, Michael Hinz, Robert Jensen and Bruce McConoughey.
Ekdahl Estates Development Agreement
Robert Jensen made a motion to sign the Development Agreement for
Ekdahl Estates Plat on condition the hazardous house on the plat
be removed by September 1, 1999. Paul Rasmussen seconded the
motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Budget For Ordinance Update
Robert Jensen made a motion to approve payment for the Township
Planner, Marc Weigle and to accept is letter stating the meeting
of May 25, 1999 shall be the last required meeting for the
proposed Zoning Ordinance. Bruce McConoughey seconded the motion
and motion adopted unanimously.
Bleacher Compliance
Robert Jensen made a motion to aprove the proposal by John
Morrison for the repair of the bleachers at the lighted field, so
the bleachers will meet the bleacher compliance for safety
purposes. Michael Hinz seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.
Tennis Court
Mr White reported that the tennis court does not have to be
resurfaced, but the tennis court needs to be seal coated and
repainted.
Robert Jensen made a motion to direct Mr White to contact the
townsnip engineer contact a contractor to seal coat and repaint
the tennis court. Bruce McConoughey seconded the motion and ,-
motion adopted unanimously.
185th Street/Repair
A discussion was held regarding the repair of 185th Street. The
pavement that was applied by the owners of Bracht Pit can not be
repaired. Roger Lindell was contacted and he stated he would not
submit a bid on the repair as this would not solve the problem
and the blacktop would still break up. Tom Peterson, Engineer
and Inspector Darren Amundson had reviewed the road problem and
stated the road should be repaired by using a reclaimer, graded
and rolled.

Dolores Peterson contacted Dresel Contractor and gave a cost
figure for reclaimer, graded and rolled of $4,500.00.
Robert Jensen made a motion to hire Dresel Contractor to reclaim
the 3/4 mule on 185th Street, to remove the blacktop, grade and
roll the road in the amount of $4,500.00. Bruce McConoughey
seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Computer/Colleen Firkus
Ms Firkus reported the need for a new computer as the computer
purchased in 1993 is not compatible for the year of 2000. The
figures for a new computer are as follows:
(1) Gateway $1744.00
(2) Roll Tex $1536.00
Ms Firkus reported that Roll Tex offers a training facility and
this is located at the new Schilling Mall at Forest Lake.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to purchase the computer at Roll Tex
for the amount $1536.00. Bruce McConoughey seconded the motion
and motion adopted unanimously.
Tree Planting At Lighted Field
Robert Jensen made a motion to give permission to the Lions Ball
Field Committee to plant 9 trees at the lighted field. Michael
Hinz seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Harold Johnson/Fences on Road Right of Way/Turn Arounds
Harold Johnson expressed is concerns regarding fences and
buildings on road right of way with the bituminous surfacing
project and questioned if the township would ask the residents to
remove them from the right of way. Mr Johnson also questioned
the turn arounds on Layton and Langley. Dennis Seefeldt, Michael
Hinz and Robert Jensen would review these items.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to contacted Landmark Surveying to
stake the roadway. Michael Hinz seconded the motion and motion
adopted unanimously.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adjourn. Robert Jensen seconded
the motion and meeting adjourned.
