The New Scandia Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Dennis Seefeldt. The following board
members were also present: Vice Chainnan Paul Rasmussen, Kevin Nickelson, Mike Hinz and John Martineau.
BIG MARINE-CARNELUN LAKES WATERSHED PARTNERS EU PROJECT
Kevin Nickelson made a motion to support the clean water partnership project of the Big Marine -
Carnelian Lakes Watershed District with $5,000 of cash or in -kind. Dennis Seefeldt seconded the motion.
The motion passed with Dennis Seefeldt, Paul Rasmussen, Kevin Nickelson and Mike Hinz voting yes. John
Martineau was absent for the vote.
EXPANSION OF BIG MARINE -CARNELIAN LAKES WATERSHED
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to support the expansion of the Big Marine -Carnelian Lakes Watershed
District as outlined in the project proposal dated September 19, 2000. Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion
and the motion passed unanimously.
RENT FOR WARMING HOUSE
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to charge $50.00 per day to Jan Brown to rent the warming house for a
three-day boutique. Mike Hinz seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
PERA LIFE INSURANCE ENROLLMENT
Mike Hinz made a motion to offer PERA life insurance to township part-time permanent staff. John
Martineau seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
COUNTY ROAD 52 STRIPING
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to authorize Washington County to change the striping on County Road 52
north of Highway 97 to add passing lanes and to authorize the town engineer to conduct a passing zone
survey to determine areas to be changed. Mike Hinz seconded the motion and the motion carried
unanimously.
NEXTEL TOWER
Dennis Seefeldt and John Martineau were appointed to a committee to meet with Nextel to begin discussions for
the town to consider a radio tower on the new Fire Hall/Public Works building.
DRAINAGE — MEADOWBROOK & LOFTON COURT
It was decided Mike Hinz would discuss the drainage problem on Meadowbrook with Mr. Gilbertson before the
town proceeded with fixing the problem. Kevin Nickelson made a motion to authorize the town engineer to
get quotes to implement the drainage project on Lofton Court as proposed by the town engineer. Paul
Rasmussen seconded the motion and the motion carried.
GRADER TIRES
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to authorize the Public Works Department to purchase four new tires for
the grader from Bauer -Built in the amount of $3,024.88. John Martineau seconded the motion and the
motion passed unanimously.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adjourn and the meeting adjourned.
