New Scandia Town Board regular monthly meeting was called to
order by Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt. The following Board Members
were also present: Paul Rasmussen, Vice Chairman, Michael Hinz,
Robert Jensen and Kevin Nickelson.
Edward Erickson Cartwa
Mr. David Hebert stated the township has not received a formal
petition as of this date for the proposed Edward Erickson
Cartway.
Appointment of Election Judges For March 14, 2000
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to appoint the following Election
Judges for the Annual March 14, 2000 Township Election: Gary
Hogle, Vivian Westermeier, Donna Larson, Judith Rydeen, Patti
Funni, Shirley Ahlm, Judy Woodhouse and Dalene Waskey. Michael
Hinz seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Salary Review For Fire Chief/Steve Spence
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to increase Steve Spence, Fire Chief
to $300.00 per month effective on January 1, 2000. Michael Hinz
seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Salary Review For Office Staff and Public Works Department
Robert Jensen made a motion to increase Colleen Firkus to $13.13
effective January 1, 1999 and Dolores Peterson $18.85 effective
January 1, 1999. Brian Jemelka $.48 hourly increase and $.72
hourly overtime effective January 1, 1999 and no adjustment for
John Morrison as Mr. Morrison received his increase in May of
1999. Dolores Peterson and Colleen Firkus shall receive the 3
per cent increase for the hourly wages for the year of 2000.
Michael Hinz seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Robert Jensen made a motion to increase Mary Hulleman hourly wage
to $8.76 and William Poidinger hourly wage to $11.33 for the year
of 2000. Michael Hinz seconded the motion and adopted
unanimously.
Ice Edger For Skating Facility
Michael Hinz made a motion to purchase a Ice Edger for the
Skating Facility in the amount of $595.00 with a 30 day warranty.
Kevin Nickelson seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.

Sound System For Board Room and Large Hall
Bids for the Sound System for the board room and large hall were
reviewed and it was agreed these items should be budgeted before
the purchase of these items. The clerk reported that the Saddle
Club had made a donation of $50.00 and the Scandia Civic Club has
agreed to donate $600.00 for the needed addition to the sound
system for the large room.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adjourn. Michael Hinz seconded
the motion and meeting adjourned.
