The regular New Scandia Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman, Dennis
Seefeldt. The following Board Members were also present: Vice Chairman, Paul Rasmussen,
Michael Hinz, Nancy Madden and John Martineau.
Private Sale of Tax Forfeited Land
A letter was received from Washington County Assessment, Taxpayer Services requesting for a
private sale of tax forfeited land in Scandia Ranchettes, Parcel Number 03-032-20-12-0009.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to not to accept the private sale of the tax forfeited land in
Scandia Ranchettes as New Scandia Township would prefer to possible use of this parcel of
land for road purposes. Nancy Madden seconded the motion.
Certificate of Compliance/Gammel Garden
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to approve the Certificate of Compliance for Gammel
Garden, Visitor Center. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.
Quit Claim Deed For Property By Hay Lake Museum
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Quit Claim Deed for conveyance of property
near Hay Lake School to New Scandia Township. John Martineau seconded the motion
and motion adopted unanimously.
Xcel Energy Gas Main
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Gas Main installation for Sand Lake Overlook.
Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.,
Citizens Communications
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the buried telephone service to 23893 Pomroy
Avenue. John Martineau seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Sand Lake Overlook, Wetland Conservation Replacement
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to approve the recommendations and conditions presented
by Washington Soil and Conservation District, but delete number four (4) and rive (5) as
the Letter of Credit in place in the amount of $131,250.00 will also take place for the
wetland mitigation. Dennis Seefeldt seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Building Inspector Insurance
Jon Ludwig, Building Inspector will be under the township insurance with the League of
Minnesota Cities. The cost of a separate insurance is cost prohibited. Mr. Ludwig will pay
the premium of $226.00.

Dan Willius Easement Agreement
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Easement Agreement with Dan Willius and
New Scandia Township. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.
Marine Watershed Management Organization
Mr. Seefeldt informed the board regarding a meeting with Jane Harper to discuss the Marine
Watershed Management Organization. It would take two parties to drop out of the MWMO and
then this would expand Carnelian Marine Watershed.
Request and Review and Comments on Mark Sandercott Sand Pad Proposal
New Scandia Town Board had very serious reservations about the proposed project to abandon
the sand pad on lot 4 and place that 25 x25 pad on lot 2 and the increase on the size. The
township office will contact Ms. Shodeen about this request.
Jerry Olson Development Agreement
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to approve the Development Agreement for Jerry Olson for
property located in Section 7 and eliminating number eleven (11) from the agreement.
Dennis Seefeldt seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to adjourn.
