On the above date New Scandia Township Planning Commission held their regular
monthly meeting. The following Board Members were also present: Dennis Seefeldt,
Chairman, Paul Rasmussen, Vice Chairman, Michael Hinz, Nancy Madden and John
Martineau.
.Tames Schneider -Rezone
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the request of James and
Peggy Schneider, 13877 195t' Street North, Marine, MN 55047. To rezone Lot 9, Block
2, Hawkinson Business Park, from General Business (GB) to Single Family Estate (SFE).
On the grounds that the lot is ideally suited for residential development due to its unique
position next to a residential district and being heavily wooded with a wetland.
Conditions are a grading and drainage plan be approved by the town engineer, for
conformance to the overall grading plan approved with the plat, prior to issuing a
building permit and a tree preservation plan be submitted with the building permit.
Findings are this is a reasonable use of the property.
Paul Rasmussen made a motion to approve the recommendation of the Planning
Commission, but exclude the conditions grading and drainage plan is approved by
the town engineer, for conformance to the overall -grading plan approved with the
plat. This is transitional and not spot rezoning. Nancy Madden seconded the
motion and motion adopted unanimously.
