The Planning Commission of New Scandia Township had held their regular monthly
meeting on this date. The following Town Board members were present:. Vice Chairman Paul
Rasmussen, Mike Hinz and Nancy Madden.
David Haselbauer, 21360 Manning Trail, Tool and Dye Shop —The Planning Commission
recommends to the Town Board that they continue the CUP for David Haselbauer Tool and Dye
for two years on the grounds that the business continues to be run in a very professional manner
with all codes, waste management strategies and recycling goals being met. Conditions are the
staffing size continues to meet agreement made prior to granting of current CUP. Findings are
the business is run efficiently and unobtrusively under the watchful eye of the knowledgeable
and well-qualified owner/operator.
Nancy Madden made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation for
the continuance of the CUP for David Haselbauer Tool and Dye Shop. Mike Hinz seconded
the motion and the motion was passed unanimously.
John Fraley, Echo Backen, 22570 Manning Trail —The Planning Cominission recommends to
the Town Board that they continue the CUP for Echo Backen until 2004 on the grounds that all
previous conditions have been met. Conditions are the turf carpet is removed this fall before it
snows. Findings are there have been no complaints and the area was well maintained.
Mike Hinz made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation for the
continuance of the CUP for John Fraley, Echo Baken. Nancy Madden seconded the motion
and the motion was passed unanimously.
Kevin Nickelson, Ironwood Golf Range, 11480 Scandia Trail — The Planning Commission
recommends to the Town Board that they continue the CUP for Ironwood Golf Range for two
years on the grounds that the business is being run in an excellent manner and extra stations and
parking spaces have been added. Conditions are the sameasprior years. Findings are this is an
excellent addition to the area, grounds kept well and it's a pleasing facility.
Nancy Madden made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation to
continue the CUP for Kevin Nickelson, Ironwood Golf Range. Paul Rasmussen seconded
the motion and the motion was passed unanimously.
U.S. West Vector Group (Verizon), 12160 Scandia Trail — The Planning Commission
recommends to the Town Board that they continue the CUP for Verizon communications tower
for two years on the grounds that the facility appears to be well maintained and properly
managed. Conditions are continued adherence to prescribed operational mandates. Findings are
the access road and grounds continue to be maintained and safety provisions met.
Mike Hinz made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation to
continue the CUP for Verizon Communication Tower. Nancy Madden seconded the motion
and the motion passed unanimously.

Scandia Cafe, 21079 Olinda Trail —The Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board
that they continue the CUP for two years on the grounds that all conditions continue to be met.
Nancy Madden made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation to
continue the CUP for Scandia Cafe. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and the motion
passed unanimously.
Nancy Madden made a motion to adjourn and the meeting adjourned.
