The regular meeting of New Scandia Town Board was called to order by Vice Chairman Paul
Rasmussen. Also in attendance were Nancy Madden and Mike Hinz. Chairman Dennis Seefeldt
and John Martineau were absent.
Public Hearing to Vacate part of Mound Street
Mr. Robert Dunbar, 14150 Stonegate Lane South, Hopkins, MN 55345, requested the town
vacate part of Mound Street in the plat of Revision of Vasa. There were no public comments.
Mike Hinz made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 10-01-02-1 to vacate part of Mound
Street in the plat of Revision of Vasa. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and the motion
was adopted unanimously.
Speed Zone for 188th Street and Norell Avenue
Nancy Madden made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 10-01-02-2 to post a speed limit of
20 miles per hour on 188th Street and Norell Avenue North. Mike Hinz seconded the motion
and the motion was adopted unanimously.
Rachel Sundbera Certificate of Compliance
Nancy Madden made a motion to accept and sign the Certificate of Compliance for Rachel
Sundberg to construct an accessory structure located at 14177 205th Street North in New
Scandia Township. Mike Hinz seconded the motion and the motion was adopted
unanimously.
Sign for Parmly Spaghetti Dinner
Nancy Madden made a motion to allow Parmly to put a temporary sign up at the corner of
Olinda Trail and Highway 97 to promote their annual spaghetti dinner fund raiser.
Conditions are the sign is temporary and removed after the dinner. Findings are it should
be allowed in this instance for the good of the community. Paul Rasmussen seconded the
motion and the motion was adopted with Nancy Madden and Paul Rasmussen voting yes
and Mike Hinz abstaining.
