On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting. The
following Town Board Members were also present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman,
Paul Rasmussen, Lisa Crum, Michael Hinz and Nancy Madden.

Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variance to Kraig Anderson
and Janine Rose, 12160 Scandia Trail North, Scandia, MN 55073. SE'/4 of the SE'/4 of Section
17, Township 32, Range 20. Rear Yard Setback from 50 feet to 13 feet to build an addition to
their home on the grounds that the proposed addition would not change the essential character of
the locality and the addition as planned, makes optimum use of existing interior spaces without
comprising historic integrity of current structure. 1) On the condition the two large trees to north
and west be saved. Findings: 1) The adjacent property to the north is a steep slope and thus
would not impact future home sites; 2) The addition will be architecturally compatible with style
and material of current structure.
Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendations for
Kraig Anderson and Janine Rose. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion with the following
additions: 1) Unique nature of the property and the home is setback from the roadway;
2) The home is constructed very close to the boundary line and the home was constructed
before, the entrance road was moved. Motion adopted unanimously.
