12-03-02 tbDecember 3, 2002 New Scandia Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman, Dermis Seefeldt. The following Board Members were present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman, Paul Rasmussen, Lisa Crum, Michael Hinz and Nancy Madden. .Ton Ludwig/Building Inspector Mr. Ludwig reviewed his Contract as New Scandia Township Building Inspector for the year of 20003. Mr. Ludwig suggested the following change on item number 7 under schedule of fees and charges of the contract. The Township agrees that in payment for the building inspection services provided by the Contractor the Contractor shall receive, out of fees and charges collected incident to this service, an amount equal to seventy percent (70%) of all permit fees and penalties and one hundred (100%) of the fees for any required plan review. If the charges collected exceed $70,000.00 the Contractor shall receive, out of fees and charges collected incident to this service, and amount equal to seventy percent (70%) of all permit fees and penalties and seventy percent (70%) of fees for any required plan review. Paul Rasmussen and Michael Hinz would review the contract and proposal and report back at the December 17, 2002 Town Board meeting. Steve McCaron/Acreage of Lot in Roman Em ire Mr. McCaron was proposing to purchase a lot in the Plat of Roman Empire and the lot is less than 20 acres. Mr. McCaron was requesting to build a larger square footage accessory building allowed on the site. Mr. McCaron was informed the lot is less than 20 acres and under the ordinance he is allowed 2500 square feet. If he acquires more acreage to the lot from a surrounding neighbor to allow unlimited square footage of an accessory building he must prove that the building use is for agriculture. Certification of Assessment for Connection to 201 Septic System New Scandia Township has not received payment from two residents for the connection charge to the 201 Septic System. The township staff was questioning if the fees could be certified to the tax roles. It was agreed to inform the residents that fees would be certified as of December 28, 2002 to Washington County Auditor. This issue will be reviewed at the December 17, 2002 Town Board meeting. Paul Rasmussen made a motion to reduce the interest rate stated in Ordinance Number 24 of the Wastewater Service Charge from 12%® to 7%. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Frontier Communications/Buried Cable 2281h Street Michael Linz made a motion to approve buried telephone cable for Frontiers Communications at 11760 228th Street.
