9-03-02 tbSeptember 3, 2002 The regular New Scandia. Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman, Dem -lis Seefeldt. The following Board Members were also present: Michael Hinz, Nancy Madden and John Martineau. Absent: Paul Rasmussen. Sign Permit/Wayne Schmitt John Martineau made a motion to approve the Certificate of Compliance for Wayne Schmitt, Scandia Auto Service, 20769 Keewahtin Avenue North, Forest Lake, MN 55025, for the installation of a sign at the Schmitt Mall. The sign is lighted and the lights must be off at 10:00 p.m. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Resolution for 2002 Road Improvement Project Dennis Seefeldt made a motion to approve the Amended Resolution No. 08/20/02/-1 for Declaring Costs to be Assessed and Ordering Preparation of Proposed Assessment. Michael Hinz seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. John Martineau made a motion to approve Resolution Number 9/03/02-01 for Hearing on Proposed Assessment for the 2002 Road Improvement Project on October 15, 2002. Street Vacate/Mound Street in the Revision of Vasa Nancy Madden made a motion to accept the Petition for the Street Vacate for part of Mound Street in the Revision of Vasa and adopt Resolution Number 9-03-02-2 Calling A Hearing on the Street Vacation on October 1, 2002. John Martineau seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Frontier Communications Nancy Madden made a motion to approve buried telephone cable for Frontier Communications at 12080 238th Street. Dennis Seefeldt seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Purchase of Hermina Rasmussen Residence David Hebert reported that he had received a letter from Matthew S. MacWilliams, Attorney stating that Hermina. Rasmussen no longer wish to sell their property to New Scandia. Township. Sale of Non -Owned Automobiles, Boats, Equipment, etc. on Highways Persons have questioned the sale of vehicles, boats, campers and the amount of signs at the comer of Highway 97 and Olinda Trail. New Scandia. Town Board directed the Office Staff to remove the signs from Highway 97 and Olinda Trail and directed the Township Attorney to draft a ordinance prohibiting the sale of Non -Owned Automobiles, Boats, Campers, etc. New Scandia Town Board September 3, 2002 Page 2 A neighbor had questioned if the old vehicle parked for sale at the residence of 12120 Scandia Trail is allowed under the Development Code. The Board and Attorney stated this should be covered under Section 9. 3, Environmental Regulations, Chapter Two of the Development Code. Bulletin Board for Board Roomâ–º Michael Hinz made a motion to purchase a new bulletin board for the wall in the Board Room. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
