12-2-03 tb,pcDecember 2, 2003 On the above date New Scandia Planning Commission held their monthly meeting. The following New Scandia Township Board Members were also in attendance: Chairman Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman Michael Hinz, Lisa Crum, Blair Joselyn and Nancy Madden. Jenny Fredrickson -Variance Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the following variance to Jenny Fredrickson, 21136 Olinda Trail, Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 4, Block 2, Scandia Addition. To approve a variance request from 20 feet to 6 inches to build a garage on the grounds that the plight of the landowner is due to circumstances unique to the property not caused by the landowner, with the condition that Ms. Fredrickson obtain a 3 foot easement from the neighbor to the south for maintenance purposes only. Findings are the variance as granted will not alter the character of the locality. Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendation for Jenny Fredrickson for the construction of a garage. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Craig Kirvida-Conditional Use Permit Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the Conditional Use Permit to applicant Craig Kirvida, 15570 Scandia Trail, Scandia, MN 55073 and owner Michael and Nancy Peterson, 21090 Ozark Avenue, Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 5, Block 1, Hawkinson Business Park. To operate a fire truck repair service at 21090 Ozark Court North on the grounds that the proposed use complies with the allowed uses in a business park. Condition are: 1) applicable conditions placed upon the original use of the building be placed on the new use of the building; 2) that no more than one additional fire truck be stored outside the facility; 3) that any scrap parts be disposed of or recycled regularly so that no parts are stored outdoors; 4) that all waste products generated be disposed of by an approved vendor; and 5) repairs and service are limited to fire trucks. Michael Linz made a motion to approve the Planning Commission recommendations for the Conditional Use Permit for Craig Kirvida. Nancy Madden seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously.
