2-4-03 tbFebruary 4, 2003 New Scandia Town Board regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt. The following Board Members were present: Chairman, Dennis Seefeldt, Vice Chairman, Paul Rasmussen, Lisa Cram, Michael Hinz and Nancy Madden. Forfeited Land Nancy Madden made a motion to acquire the tax forfeited property on Hay Lake, Parcel Number 26-032-20-32-0006, Lot 3, Block 1, Merrywood. The township shall also acquire the following parcels. Parcel Number 19-032-20-23-0014, Sylvan Lake, 31-032-20-14-0041 and 0049 in Bliss Plat First Division. Dennis Seefeldt seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Mr. Robert Peterson and Mr. Harold Johnson expressed their concerns with New Scandia Township acquiring the parcels located on Big Marine Lake as property owners have easements on these parcels for lake access. Mr. Peterson and Mr. Johnson were informed that easements on properties do not change with ownership. Striping Project For 2003 Michael Hinz made a motion to approve the Striping Project for 2003 with Washington County Public Works for the amount of $38,115.00. The following streets will be included in the 2003 Project. 220th Street, Pomroy, 2202"d from Olinda Trail to Orwell, Oakhill from HWS' 97 to Meadowbrook, Meadowbrook, (Oakhill to Melaine), 228th Street, 230th Street, 191St Street (County 15 to Langley,, 185th Street (County 15 to Langley), Old Marine Trail. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Appointment of Township Planner Nancy Madden made a motion to appoint Richard Thompson with the firm of TKDA to fill the position of Township Planner. Lisa Crum seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. 3.2 Percent Malt Liguor License/Meisters Bar and Grill Michael Hinz made a motion to renew the 3.2 Malt Liquor License for Meisters Bar and Grill. Paul Rasmussen seconded the motion and motion adopted unanimously. Tree Trimming/Pilar Road A letter was received from Ray Grunzinger specifying no tree trimming or brush trimming along their property on Pilar Road. The township office was directed to send a letter to Mr. Grunzinger stating the township will do tree trimming and brush trimming on the part of Pilar Road that the township maintains.
