On the above date New Scandia Township Planning Commission held their regular monthly
meeting. The following New Scandia Town Board Members were also present: Chairman,
Dennis Seefledt, Lisa Crum, Blair Joselyn and Nancy Madden. Absent: Vice -Chairman, Michael
Hinz.
Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the application for a Conditional
Use Permit for Mr. Patrick Reichert, 11133 189u' Avenue North, Marine, MN 55047. That part of
SW'/4 of the SE i/4 of Section 30, Township 32, Range 20. To operate Big Marine Lake Store,
19621 Manning Trail, be approved for Phase One of the proposed project consisting of the sale of
off -sale liquor on the grounds that the requested use is largely restoration of a prior use. The
store formerly known as Kuno's Store has a long history as a general store and gas station serving
the surrounding agricultural and recreational community. Conditions are: 1) Meet County
Collector Road requirements for entrance and exist to property; 2) Sanitary septic and well
regulations be met; 3) No parking on the easement to the north which is to be clearly mark d
accordingly; 4) Submit a Certificate of Survey within 90 days; and 5) Whenever possiblrstoric
nature of building. Findings are it is reasonable and beneficial use of the property. The following
amendment that lighting and signage conform to the Zoning Code was added to the motion. The
public hearing for the other aspects of the business will be held at a later date.
Nancy Madden made a motion to approve the Planning Commission with the following
amendment: The living quarters of the store has been used as rental for many years, so
therefore grandfathered in. Lisa Crum seconded the motion and motion adopted
unanimously.
